Top property hot spots in Norwich

View over Norwich city centre

In a recent blog, we talked about how Norwich was recently named a top UK property hotspot by The Sunday Times. In that blog, we discussed our thoughts on why Norwich is a top property hot spot. Now we’re going to take a closer look at some of the locations within the city and its surrounding areas which are great for owning property.

Golden Triangle

The Golden Triangle is potentially Norwich’s most popular and sought-after location for owning property and has been since the 1800s. Officially, the Golden Triangle starts at the edge of the city centre, spreading outwards between Newmarket Road and Earlham Road, with Unthank Road said to be the centre of the Golden Triangle. The main type of property in the area is Victorian terraces giving character and identity to the Golden Triangle. The area has previously been dubbed ‘The Notting Hill of Norwich’ and has even received national recognition, appearing in The Sunday Times ‘Top 101 best places to live in Britain.’ Whilst the Golden Triangle is already a favoured area, it will only grow in size and popularity, with property prices in the area also increasing.

Silver Triangle

Located in the NR3 postcode of Norwich, the Silver Triangle is also a very popular area of the city. Said to be the new Golden Triangle, the Silver Triangle has gained in popularity over the years for a number of reasons. The area was once viewed in a negative light, however after redevelopment in parts; the Silver Triangle has attracted much attention and is now home to a diverse group of residents, from families to Students from Norwich University of the Arts (NUA). Property prices in the area have been on the rise over the last few years and with the potential gentrification of Anglia Square, prices could skyrocket in the future. We currently have multiple properties for sale in the Silver Triangle. One of them is this 2 bedroom Victorian terrace house on Spencer Street. Is this something you’re interested in? Thorpe Hamlet

Thorpe Hamlet is located in the eastern boundary of the city. Its close proximity to Norwich train station and the city centre itself make the hamlet an ever increasing hot spot for property in Norwich and as a result, properties in the area are highly sought-after and usually sell very quickly. Properties in the area range from flats to detached houses with the main demographic in the area being middle-aged professionals. Property prices in Thorpe Hamlet have risen over the last year, however, are relatively low compared to other parts of Norwich and the surrounding areas, with the average property price in Thorpe Hamlet now £219,000.

Trowse

The village of Trowse can be found just 1.5 miles south-east of Norwich city centre on the banks of the River Yare. Although it is close to the city centre, it hasn’t lost its countryside feel, as it benefits from two broads, woodland and riverside areas, and two pubs. This makes Trowse a popular and sought-after area as it has great links to Norwich city centre, whilst offering a break from the bustling city itself. As a result, the overall average property price in Trowse is now £367,000.

Eaton

The village of Eaton is located to the south-west of the city centre and is another popular residential area of the city, due to its close proximity to the city centre of Norwich and the facilities on offer. The demographics living in the area vary; however, it is largely home to staff and students from the nearby University of East Anglia. Eaton has an average property price of £376,000, which is higher than nearby Cringleford and Norwich. We currently have this 4 bedroom detached house available in on Blakeney Close in Eaton.
